The Balance of Probability

Life is a mystery, I often think, and perhaps it is one that will remain perpetually unresolved. The moment we begin to question the most basic aspects of existence, we may find ourselves in a state that feels almost like awakening. The mind possesses an endless capacity for curiosity and an innate desire to seek answers, and once this process begins, it demands more and more. It was from this impulse that philosophers emerged, along with their profound ideas and theories, not out of boredom, but from a relentless hunger for understanding. Yet, time and again, they arrived at the same realisation: there is no absolute certainty in the questions they pursued.

Human beings exist on a fragile threshold between becoming deeply reflective thinkers and losing their mental stability altogether. The balance of probability, as I see it, is not something everyone possesses, for the mind is often insufficiently trained to endure sustained doubt and relentless questioning. Pain plays a significant role in this process, acting as one of the most powerful forces capable of strengthening the mind. However, this raises an unsettling question: is it truly fair? In seeking answers, one may instead encounter paradox, emotional collapse, or even profound depression born from the act of questioning itself.

The equilibrium between one’s mind and life is among the most crucial balances we possess. Without inner peace, the risk of losing oneself to the mind becomes alarmingly real.

Many external influences can disrupt this balance, yet none are as powerful as one’s own will. It is the will alone that determines whether the mind is shaped into strength or fractured by its own weight.

The balance of probability exists within you, and between you.
